Tasmanian Landscapes: Inspired by the Glover Prize

Entries closed on Friday for the Glover Prize. Named after the British painter who found fame painting the Southern island state, the prize celebrates contemporary landscape paintings of the apple isle. The award is open to entrants from all over the world, and is one of Australia's most significant art prizes. It's aim is to stimulate conversations about the meaning and possibilities expressed in the words landscape, painting and Tasmania. . Inspired by the acquisitive prize, we unearthed the best artists who've travelled to the oft-forgotten state and captured it's natural wonderment. Browse a selection of contemporary landscape art and who knows, you might also be inspired to make a trip to Tassie yourself!
