DUSK TO DUSK showcases my new
series of abstract landscape paintings in my
distinctive style, a combination of poured
acrylic resin marbling and traditional painting.
I embrace the chaos of this painting
technique demonstrating my mastery of craft
by deftly rendering aerial Australian desert
landscapes whilst simultaneously embracing
the techniques uncertainty and preserving the
natural expression inherent in the medium.
Each painting symbolizing 24 hours in a day within the Australian Landscape. From the first golden rays of sunshine creeping through the rugged sands of the desert to the mellowing whisper of silver moon. Depicting Australiaโs raw and furrowed vast outback in all its glory. The paintings are named according to the hour of the day in 24 hour time nomenclature. Next to each hour is the indigenous name for this number, one to twenty four, in the local dialect relating to the landscapes from which
inspiration was drawn. In this case, each hour is translated into native Noongar, which is the official language of the Aboriginal people of the south-west of Western Australia.
