The diptych "Flickering" embodies the ephemeral and dynamic nature of light and movement. The left panel showcases cascading vertical streaks that resemble shimmering rain or light reflecting off a wet surface, capturing the transient brilliance of a flickering glow. The layered textures and shifting hues create a rhythmic, almost hypnotic flow, drawing the viewer into its fleeting beauty.
The right panel contrasts this with a delicate dance of leaf-like shapes, their overlapping forms and vibrant palette suggesting the interplay of dappled sunlight filtering through a canopy or the glinting motion of foliage stirred by the wind. Together, the panels evoke a sense of transience and vibrancy, with "Flickering" perfectly encapsulating their essence—a momentary shimmer, alive and ever-changing.
Created in layers, the first layer is transparent fluid acrylic that dances around the canvas, forming distinct colour combinations and patterns. For the painting with the "stripes," I used acrylic paint and impasto medium to create texture on top of the transparent layer. For the painting with the "brush marks," I used acrylic paint, some marks are light and airy, almost see-through, some are thicker and you can see the texture of the paint.
This listing is for a diptych, unframed. Each piece measures 76x101x4 cm. They can be hung next to each other or separated—for example, along a stairway, on a long wall, on each side of a door, or on different panels. I believe this flexibility is an incredible advantage. The artworks will also be listed separately.
