Hi all- I am quiet and at peace when I am painting. My studio may be thumping with loud music but I am quiet. That tempest in my soul is tamed.
My painting is a pure extension of my emotions or state of mind. I paint from somewhere deep within me. I become so submerged in the work that I feel I'm possessed, everything seems euphoric yet organic.
I sometimes have colours or textures in my mind that may come from something I have seen weeks earlier. It can be unusual tree bark, a pothole I step over or a pile of junk on the side of the road. This can translate to the colours and texturing that inspire my work. The contrast of colour and texture reflects the turbulence and brilliance under pinning most of our lives.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my profile and work. I very much appreciate it .
