This composite photographic image is one of many from the The Un-Scenes Project. All elements in the image have been photographed by myself over the years and compiled in photoshop to create a new slightly surreal environment for the subject, generally somewhere you wouldn't expect to find it, an un-scene if you like. All images belong to a 3 part themed series in a 16:9 format, have a white border and include a certificate which tells the story and inspiration behind each image.
The title of the print is located bottom centre of white border which can either be included or not when framing.
Each print has a digital signature bottom corner of the image.
This image is one of three from the Waste Lands series, inspired by the movies Mad Max and The Road. Although the theme appears dystopian and desolate, the dramatic skies hint at hope and promise of a distant future.
They all feature a stunning streaky red sunset from Gladstone, Queensland with overlays of cane fire smoke and mammatus clouds from Cairns. They also feature old rusty antique car bodies and salt flats from Gladstone, QLD.
The Red Waste
Miles and miles of dry crusty salt flats are dotted here and there with signs of life, giving false hope to one traversing the expanse of the Red Waste. This posting does offer a little comfort and shelter with a little tinned food, fresh bird eggs and pools of water trapped in the bowels of this old steam engine. The transport company, however, may not be so reliable.
Old car is from Irvinebank, QLD, trees and brick chimney from Chillagoe, QLD, and the old brick remnant steam engine from a sawmill is from Mt Molloy, QLD.
