A composite image made up of various photographs taken by myself to create a new uncluttered slightly surreal landscape, generally somewhere you wouldn't expect to find it, an ‘un-scene’ if you like. Elements are selected for similar lighting, street furniture and clutter removed in Photoshop, and toned to blend in with their new environments. Most images belong to a 3 part themed series, have a white border and include a certificate which tells the story and inspiration behind each image.
The title of the print is located bottom centre of white border which can either be included or not when framing.
Each print has a digital signature bottom corner of the image.
The final print size is 62x64cm with the white border and title.
The image size without this is 60x60cm.
Barcaldine, just east of Longreach, QLD has an eclectic mix of retro architecture lining its main street as well as hiding in the back streets.
The streets are long and super wide, with large blocks, so each building stands out more, without too much busy street furniture. I have kept them simple, adding colours to match and their link to the modern world of electricity.
Background for all these images is the claypans of the nearby landscape or original footpaths under the Milky Way

Silent movies started in this Art Nouveau theatre in 1926. It had a gravel and dirt floor, canvas seats and metal louvres for ventilation.
It also served as an indoor cricket centre, café and auction mart. Now back showing movies with the addition of air conditioning, the place is once again entertaining its town.
