ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Sharron Okines completed her Diploma of Visual Arts at Chisholm Frankston in 2010 with High Distinctions, where she fell in love with traditional printmaking methods and oil painting.
She was awarded the Printmaking Encouragement Award by Chisholm and selected as a finalist for the Mary and Lou Senini Student Award for Printmaking & Painting 2010 at McClelland Gallery and Sculpture Park.
Since graduating, Sharron has held thirteen solo shows, been selected for sixty plus group shows and awarded prizes for her prints, drawings and paintings.
She was a finalist in the noted Geelong Print Prize and awarded Best in Show for Art at the Melbourne Royal Show 2017, the Rick Amor Print Prize 2015, Silk Cut Award for Linocut Prints 2014 and 2011, Inkmasters Print Exhibition 2014 and 2012, She Exhibition 2013, Clifton’s Art Prize Melbourne 2012 and St Michael’s Archangel Prize and Exhibition 2011. Her work was selected to exhibit in the International Print Centre New York 42nd Summer Exhibition. Sharron was invited to participate in the Imaginings, Beautiful Soup, Beastarium and Magical Folio Exchange and Exhibitions, curated by Rona Green and was a recipient of a City of Melbourne Arts Grant.
