Shane is an artist, designer, and photographer based on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. With a degree in Art and Design from the University of the Sunshine Coast, he has over a decade of experience specialising in environmental and placemaking graphics in the field of urban design and architecture.
In 2021, Shane embarked on a new path, founding Iluka, a design and creative studio that allows him to channel his passion into his work. Inspired by the beauty of the natural world around him, Shane returned to his first love, art, in 2021, and has since spent the last three years exploring and rediscovering his innate creativity.
As an artist, Shane’s attention to detail and pursuit of perfection have always been key elements of his work. However, his recent exploration of large-format abstract landscape paintings has allowed him to push the boundaries of his creativity, challenging himself to move beyond his comfort zone and explore new avenues of artistic expression.
Living close to the beach on the Sunshine Coast, Shane is constantly inspired by the changing landscapes of the area, drawing on the colours and textures of the sandy beaches and rocky headlands in his work. His paintings are not simply depictions of trees, rocks, or other features of the landscape, but rather a reflection of the gesture and expression of their role in the overall environment.
In his art, Shane seeks to connect with his viewers on a profound level, conveying the beauty and power of the natural world in a way that transcends language and culture.
