I'm a full time Artist based in Adelaide, South Australia.
My Art practice is predominantly drawing and painting, and I work in a number of media, in particular oil painting, coloured pencil drawing and iPad digital drawing and painting.
The iPad drawing/painting has become a major part of my practice lately. I make drawings nearly every day, and these go on to be either sources for paintings, or for digital "mashups" and animations.
I almost never use photographs to make my work, but I draw and paint from direct observation, and often use these studies to make larger paintings. My work ranges from abstract through to realism, depending on what I am thinking about at the time.
I am fascinated by the way our brains "see" the world, and how we visually interpret movement and change.
I graduated from Adelaide Central School of Art in 2010 with a BVA (Hons), and I've been working from my own studio ever since. I exhibit regularly in both group and solo shows, and I also run workshops and participate in Artists residencies, or indeed any visual art related job that I can find. Occasionally I teach Life Drawing or Digital iPad drawing at the Art school.
I've been a finalist in a number of Art prizes, including the Doug Moran Portrait prize, The Fleurieu Water and Environment prize, The SALA contemporary Art Prize, The Adelaide Parklands Prize, The Prospect portrait Prize and the Emma Hack Art Prize.
