For this painting I have been continuing my exploration of layering techniques with watercolour and gouache paint. Using calligraphy brushes and various paint consistencies, I mix the colours directly onto the painting to achieve a painting that is fluid and spontaneous. My works feature many hours of intricate white line work and mark making which can be seen in some of the detailed photos.
My current paintings explore the visual language of line and pattern within the Australian Landscape and are inspired by early Japanese woodblock prints/Ukiyo-e. This statement piece featuring a Major Mitchell's Cockatoo perched on a Gum Tree in relaxing hues of blues, blush pink and ivory/buff would make a fabulous edition to your Australian home or commercial space.
ALSO AVAILABLE FRAMED + $450.00 + 2 weeks
(white or black frame with white mount and glass - finished frame size is approx: 120cm x 87cm)
**** My works on paper are sold unframed unless specified in the listing. Paper is safer to ship than heavy glass frames, and some collectors prefer to choose the frame to suit their own decor. However if you'd prefer to purchase this work already framed, I am happy to arrange for you. Please let Bluethumb know at check out so they can update your invoice.
You may notice a very faint ยฉ Copyright watermark across the first image. This only appears on my main digital file to protect my artwork from being downloaded and reproduced without my permission (it happens unfortunately).
I do try to make them as discreet as possible so as not to upset your delicate eye area. I promise your painting or print will not have a visible watermark all over it. I do include several cropped in shots of my work without a watermark in the gallery so you can clearly see the works close up.
