"Pinjarra Heritage Tearooms" by Rochelle Toomey
This architectural landscape was inspired by a photograph I had taken while visiting at the Heritage Tearooms at Edenvale in Pinjarra WA. The stunning building is located on the Edenvale estate. This particular view is from the centre walkway which runs from the front to the back, out the front door to the gardens and path beyond. This piece has taken over 40 hours to get to the final painting. Initially, a photo was taken, drawings were done, colour sketches made and finally the painting. This piece is a tribute to the area and its heritage .
Currently, I am focused on painting some gorgeous, moody landscapes in my current work. I am strongly influenced by places and landscapes that are peaceful, melancholy and evoke a feeling of home to me. Landscapes are always so charming and make the perfect focal points of my paintings. I hope you enjoy this piece. The scene is painted in Rochelle's unique watercolour style.
