I love capturing everyday settings from landscape to still life with a vibrant colour palette. Born in Sydney, I am a painter based in Canberra, Australia.
I use a detailed pointillist technique, placing tiny dabs of colour side by side. This method also creates a texture which provides an unexpected dimension as the viewer gets closer. My aim is to capture a mood or moment, creating an uplifting and optimistic painting.
Currently my work explores themes of ocean seascapes and summer fruits. Having grown up in coastal Sydney, I love capturing the feeling of the Australian summer and I believe colour plays an important role in this. Whether itβs to convey the sun falling on the turquoise water or the intense warmth of an orange, I like to explore the infinite combinations of warm and cool hues of the colour wheel.
I also play with different perspectives and compositions in my works. I feel that aerial perspectives and disparate elements in the work can take the viewer outside of their everyday life.
In 2017 my HSC major work was purchased by my high school from a cohort of about 40 art students. I am in my third year studying visual arts and psychology at the Australian National University.
