I've been drawing since I was a child.
My formal training began under a master artist whose work I may never surpass, so I went of on a tangent completing a Bachelor Degree in Design and Illustration from Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia. My influences are broad, some for their technique, others for their attitude and ideas. This includes everyone from Leonardo da Vinci to illustrators like Ralph Steadman , Gerald Scarfe, and also concept art for movies. For me the creation of art is as much about enjoying the process as it is about the end result. Working as a designer and illustrator has taught me the importance of following ideas either your own (or that of a client) through from the first sketch of an idea, to the finished product.
I have recently relocated to the Illawarra region of NSW and my current work is influenced by the natural features of this amazing area as I explore it as a stranger in a strange land.
My work tries to create a mythology, maybe after people have disappeared, where sentient, anthropomorphic plant life forms now dominate the environment.
