Bluethumb pays for the safe return of the artwork to the artist. 

 

We want you to love your new masterpiece. If you get your art home and don't fall in love with it, or simply change your mind, we’ve got you covered.  

Our Free Returns make buying art online a breeze.

 

HOW TO RETURN YOUR ARTWORK:
  1. Notify Us Within 7 Days
    • You have up to 7 days from receiving your artwork to notify Bluethumb if you wish to return it.
    • Simply email help@bluethumb.com.au with your order number and intent to return.
    • You’ll be required to complete a Return Form to process your request.
  2. Ship Your Return Within 7 Days of Receiving the Shipping Label
    • Once we approve your return, Bluethumb will send you a prepaid shipping label.
    • Use the original packaging to repackage the artwork (if you no longer have this you will need to purchase additonal packaging at your own expense) 
    • From the time you receive the label, you have 7 days to lodge the return.
  • Return process based on size:
    • If the longest dimension is under 105cm → Drop it off at your local Post Office.
    • If the longest dimension is over 105cm → Bluethumb will arrange a courier pick-up for you.
RETURN TIMELINE CLARIFICATION :
  • Regardless of when you notify Bluethumb within the first 7 days, you will have 7 days from the date you receive the prepaid shipping label to ship the return.
  • This means the total return period may vary slightly based on when you receive your shipping label but will not exceed 14 days from the date of delivery.
  • Refunds are initiated on confirmation of collection/shipment of the return parcel unless Bluethumb requires the artist to acknowledge recipt first, which will be communicated prior. 

RETURN COSTS REFUNDS:

  • Free Returns Australia-wide → Bluethumb covers the full cost of return shipping within Australia.
  • International Returns → Bluethumb will cover return freight costs up to AUD $100.
  • Refunds or Store Credit → Once your return is processed, you’ll receive either a full refund or store credit based on your preference

IMPORTANT NOTE:

  • If you do not confirm your return request within 7 days of receiving the artwork, Bluethumb reserves the right to decline the return.
  • If you do not lodge the return within 7 days of receiving the prepaid shipping label, Bluethumb reserves the right to cancel the return request.

FREE RETURNS FAIR USE POLICY 

  • Free returns are designed to ensure you get an artwork you love, and one that fits your space at home or work. With that in mind Bluethumb will allow a customer to return up to two (2) artworks free of charge within a six month period, with Bluethumb paying the return shipping. Returns above this quantity require written approval from Bluethumb. 
  • Lay-By orders are subject to different returns policy due to the fact they take an extended time to complete payment. In the event that the artwork from a Layby order is not suitable, the buyer may return the artwork in exchange for a gift voucher to the equivalent value of the artwork purchased. The gift voucher cannot be redeemed for cash, it can only be used to purchase an alternative artwork.
  • Framing. Where the customer requests an unframed artwork to be framed, or alteration to an existing frame, this results in either Bluethumb or the Artist incurring additional cost to change the artwork for the customer. In the event that the artwork is returned, the amount refunded will net of these additional framing costs. 

 

INSURANCE CLAIMS 

  • If an artwork is damaged in transit, we have it fully insured. You must notify us within the returns period of any damage, or if the work is not as advertised, please check the work as soon as you recieve it and inform us of any issues. You can either be refunded in full, request the artist to create something unique for you or purchase any other piece off Bluethumb (store credit) immediately without having to wait for the insurance claim.
  • Insurance cases are handled fully by Bluethumb's team and artists are compensated in full as well (if damaged in transit due to courier handling).
  • Bluethumb reserves the right to extend the returns period to 14 days for trade sales and other scenarios where we see fit.
