Marianne Gammans took up painting full time ten years ago after she moved to the Mornington Peninsula. Her artistic journey during this time has included meeting with a group of artists on a weekly basis that has been both inspiring and encouraging when needed. She has enjoyed the challenge of experimenting with mixed media, particularly abstract art and while her preference is for pastel coloured paintings, often brighter colours emerge. Having always loved patterns, textures and unusual shapes found in nature Marianne prefers not to paint the visible world but to use her imagination and let her art evolve in time. She is always happiest in a country setting and her art reflects this.
