Lyn currently enjoys working with Winsor and Newton professional watercolour paints and inks, though often mixes in Derwent inktense pencils and a variety of other mediums.
Watercolour papers of various sorts are usually used though anything at hand can and often does get used.
Influences: Growing up in various New South Wales country towns, and living in 3 other countries, travelling in others has allowed her to grow to enjoy and appreciate diversity and the beauty that comes with life in the midst of challenges - along with the need to look out for those glimpses or sometimes profound expressions of goodness, gentleness, kindness and love.
Lyn often draws and finds birds appearing in her paintings. Whimsical characters also often appear. Often the work reflects what she perceives may be happening at the time - perhaps more an expression of feelings, so abstract in expression. She enjoys being led in painting, learning to flow with Love and finds in the midst of prayer and singing, dancing that art flows easily. It is her walk with God that encourages and inspires her - with key verses and sayings and promptings giving insight to challenge and encourage.
While living in China for a few years, Lyn admired ink paintings on paper and fabric and at some stage would like to try that - big or small,
Lyn encourages others to also 'have a go'. Lyn Ferguson Art - to encourage and inspire
Some of Lyn's art could be useful to encourage and prompt lateral thinking - there are some many possible interpretations of what the painting is conveying that is can be fun and useful to brainstorm these as an ice-breaker before a planning session for example. Go for it - give your dream wings! PS You could also try doing some art of your own for this - or use a child's! Don't fear - give it a go
