Following on from a career as a successful landscape designer, producing award-winning gardens for over twenty years, Luke continues his story telling on canvas.
From an early beginning Luke enjoyed exposure to art in all its diverse forms, courtesy of his artist parent’s involvement within the ‘Angry Penguins’ movement.
His works draw on a lifelong love of Australian salt lakes, arid landscapes and iconic mountains which have been home to the oldest continuous culture in the world. With a highly trained eye for observing nature, he invites the viewer to an almost tactile experience through the inclusion of sand, earth and earth pigments.
Luke’s recent works explore the unique colour palettes and textural qualities in the Australian landscape from Uluru to the surreal Neapolitan colours and textures of Hutt Lagoon’s salt lakes.
