Liz Zylinski is an Australian artist based in Melbourne. Liz is fascinated by shape and form, the relationship between them and is constantly inspired by the world around her, urban and rural. Liz has worked in acrylics, mixed media, water colour pencil, lino and gel plate mono prints, but prefers oils for its depth, translucence, vibrancy and ability to play with and push the medium.
Her artwork plays with colour, geometry, planes, texture and the relationship between elements, often with a quirky addition to provoke and interest the viewer.
Liz’s most recent works abstract landscape through texture, shape, form and colour using only palette knife on unstretched linen canvas. These paintings range from bright colourful interpretations of land to colour studies exploring tone and hue in a single colour.
Liz has run her own arts education business, taught at commercial art and craft shows and holds a Certificate in Visuals Arts and Contemporary Craft. May 2022 saw Liz’s first solo exhibition ‘Places’ at the Old Auction House in Kyneton.
