The quirky ugly side of natural subjects, aging and weathering, textures all grab my attention and add to the challenge of rendering it on a 2-dimensional plane whilst still capturing the 3-dimensional form. My maniacal take-no-prisoners sense of humour then adds a title to these works in the form of word play that hopefully catches the imagination of the viewer.
"How did you DO that?" is a question I'm constantly asked, and I still wonder myself sometimes when a piece is completed.
A day without drawing is a day wasted, and two lifetimes won't be enough to do all the subjects I want to do, with some objects being returned to again and again.
