Stories no 4 by Lana Alsamir-Diamond - Stories is a series that was born out of my love of living by the sea, I see this series like post cards from your favourite destination, that tell a story, and take you on a journey.
I am forever dreaming of Palms and arches, the restraint needed to create my more minimal works sometimes gently gives way to equally minimal but more figurative works, the Architecture of the Greek Islands and memories of star gazing under towering mediterranean palm trees, are a constant in my work.
Moons are also a constant in my work, if you have ever watched the moon as religiously as I do, you would know that the moon has so many faces, my fascination started when I used it as a constant presence in my more figurative works, and I slowly became fascinated by the shape and the possibilities it offered to my work, it grew from a representation of the moon to a recurring motif.
There is something mesmerising about using different shades of the same colour, you watch it come to life slowly.
