Night flight by Lana Alsamir-Diamond A part of a continuous interest in themes of closeness, this is a minimalist abstract in Acrylic Gouache.
Obsessed with this Red, I don't usually use red but I was commissioned to paint in Red and was very reluctant, but the client had a vision and I felt I needed to try something new, and the result was amazing. Now I am in love, something about the vibrant colour with the minimal, bold forms that is just stunning, so had to create "Night flight".
Moons are a constant in my work, if you have ever watched the moon as religiously as I do, you would know that the moon has so many faces, my fascination started when I used it as a constant presence in my more figurative works, and I slowly became fascinated by the shape and the possibilities it offered to my work, it grew from a representation of the moon to a recurring motif.
Original artwork, Acrylic Gouache on hand made cotton paper, with deckled edges in natural colour.
