Kirsty Watkins is a full-time artist renowned for her photorealistic acrylic paintings of Western Australia’s Indian Ocean, pristine beaches, and landscapes.
Growing up in the Perth Hills, she developed a deep love for both the ocean and the bush, themes that continue to shape her work. Rottnest Island holds special significance, featuring prominently in her paintings and culminating in her 2018 Artist in Residence experience.
Her work captures the ocean’s transformative energy, evoking feelings of clarity and renewal. “I want to bring that experience into people’s lives, no matter where they are,” she shares.
An avid explorer, Kirsty draws inspiration from across Western Australia, from the lush South-West to the rugged Kimberley, translating the beauty of these places into her art.
