As I stood in front of a vast field, I was deeply inspired to create and to depict the vivid storm of colours, to conserve the memory forever. The large, thickly-textured red and orange strokes juxtapose the soft blue sky. The texture adds shape to the composition and the feeling of the piece, giving it a stronger base and impression. The lone trees, standing atop the red, hard ground provide shade in an otherwise sunny country - so symbolically defining Australia. The abstractionist nature of the layers comes together to make the painting a further representation of the spiritual journey we traverse as we see such rich landscapes.
