I am passionate about the natural world and I paint to reflect it’s beauty. I have been making realistic art all of my life. I can’t help it, I am driven to record the beauty around me that nature gives so abundantly. For me, I love the intricate structures and the diversity. I found that despite my best efforts with a camera the results were never enough, so I choose to paint, usually in high detail. (I am sorry but I can’t help it with the detail, it is just who I am!) How do you connect with Nature? Personally I find the pace of walking in the bush, botanic gardens, or even just in the city streets, is ideal for connecting and seeing new ideas and inspiration.
My work is completed using the best quality artists materials and finished to an exceptionally high standard. I have been a professional artist since 2013, and was semi professional before that, though I have always painted. I now work mainly in oil paint and occasionally other media. My work is in private and corporate collections in Australia and homes around the world. I exhibit in various group shows and have had a number of successes including winning the Lethbridge 10,000 Small Scale Art Award for 2014, and the EKKA Still Life prize in 2013 and 2015.
