On a trip to the beautiful Rajasthan, in a small town, we were lucky to stumble across a rare version of the Gavari festival. Many women were dressed in eye popping, vivd colour, these women walk to the festival carrying items. Their faces hidden, their identity unknown, they represent the millions of women in India who are acceptable to men as objects of beauty, but not as individuals; as people deserving of the power and freedom granted to their opposite sex.
