I have always been a keen rose grower, although currently I am a bit into a recovery of a minor stroke, and have been neglecting my rose garden which sadly lays there overgrown with weeds. What can I say, I have no excuse but that I am far too dizzy to work digging the garden. These roses were from our own rose-garden. The other thing in this painting is the vase. The form is quiet Universal, but the pattern is distinctly Middle Eastern, yet different from the few Moroccan ones I have. I saw the pattern in a magazine and borrowed it. That is artistic license no? If it isn't, then I am going to make a pot like it and paint that pattern on it!
Note: If you who would like to view my paintings in person, you are welcome to a live viewing at the seriously chique " Hampton Estate Wines " on Mount Tamborine (Gold Coast hinterland) where there are always around 20-30 paintings on show. Worth coming up the mountain for a day trip if you are visiting the Gold Coast , Queensland 4272, Australia.
