“Collage in Oil 29”

**FaceScapes Series**
This series I look at blending landscapes with portraiture, using colour and shape to represent various landscapes in an abstract sense as part of the human form.
Mostly geometric shapes are used, sometimes layered among more obscure organic shapes that make up the abstract element. Colour is used to both suggest a landscape feature but also as a mediator to merge the abstract elements with the realistic sections.
This stylised approach is employed to convey an exaggerated translation of the way I perceive the hidden design in the natural world. The colour combinations that occur in nature, from sunrise to set, land, sea and sky are dissected and rearranged within the human profile.
