Jo White is an emerging artist on the Australian contemporary arts scene.
“I have had an interest in art since I was a child having been encouraged by the many artistic talents in my family.”
Much of Jo’s work is inspired by her childhood growing up on sheep and broadacre farming properties in rural NSW.
Jo is currently exploring the world of portraiture and human form and has developed a unique style in her depictions of rural Australia.
A number of Jo's works celebrate Australia’s love of sport and in particular the sporting rituals of rural communities. Where sports and socialising revolve around the seasons. And where fond memories are forged amid the everyday.
Jo has had successful solo exhibitions at Michael Reid Murrurundi, The Moree Gallery as well as group showings with The Other Art Fair in Sydney and Melbourne during 2016 and 2017.
Jo's next solo exhibition will be held at Michael Reid Murrurundi in April 2018.
