My profession is in Aquaculture but one of my many hobbies includes playing and sculpting with molten aluminium. It is an incredibly versatile and fluid material to use that can fill minute gaps when heated in a foundry and poured at over 660 Β°C .
My passion developed rather quickly after making my first sculpture out of an ant hill. After excavating the solidified result of the ant colony's architecture, I found an intricate and beautiful sculpture had been created.
Since then, after doing many more aluminium castings of ant hills, I have never been disappointed with the end result.
My signature for these sculptures is my use of materials. I only use scrap aluminium found locally and only use recycled River redgum timber.
