I live in Sydney, NSW. I emigrated to Australia 10 years ago from South Africa where I studied Graphic Design. After graduation, I worked for the State Theatre Art Department creating posters and programs for ballet, opera, drama etc.
I took a break from Graphic Design after working at the theatre for 5 years and got full time into my passion โ painting and drawing wildlife and portraits (pets and people) I am particularly passionate about Africaโs wildlife.
Painting wild African animals is my way of keeping the bond with my motherland alive and is a very important part of my life; it lets me share my love, passion and awe of these incredible creatures with you the viewer.
I work mainly in watercolour, pastels and all drawing mediums (charcoal, graphite, pen and ink, coloured pens and pencils) but also work in oils and acrylic.
I have exhibited both in South Africa and here in Australia, winning numerous awards. While living in Perth WA I created the opportunity to start art classes for adults and found that I really enjoy teaching. There is something about sharing your knowledge with others that makes for an extraordinarily rich and rewarding experience.
