My creativity comes in floods and droughts, causing total abandonment of the canvas until motivation literally explodes vigorously with fresh ideas to produce, produce, produce. Seems that the odd 'Artistic Block' is an Artist's peril - unavoidable time and again. Originally from Melbourne, I travelled overseas and interstate for a few years until settling in Queensland for 40 years, most of my life, until finally returning in 2019 to Victoria's Mornington Peninsular. I'm influenced by all around me as well as our rapidly changing climate.
I enjoy various subjects from landscapes, portraiture to figure works and for many years I've attended life drawing studios/workshops and met fabulous, talented people who generously share information, skills and knowledge. I love the comparison between drawing and marking images from that of body form to geography. Both being a scape of outstretched form, shape, colour and texture from which to create an image for our eyes to gaze upon with enjoyment. Perhaps you too see what I see:).
Recently, I've chosen to gift all profits from all sales to help the homeless youth, principally here on the peninsular, through Fusion Australia. They do magic and have a number of fabulous op shops here as well, where I occasionally gift some artworks...go see at Thrift, The Old School and a new addition in Dromana!
Thank You for your interest, Glenda.
