Born in 1948 and raised in New Zealand my interest in art began when I left school and started work in a frame shop. I later opened a small gallery and through that met my mentor and friend Michael Blow, a professional artist. I have no formal training and am primarily self taught. I am an artist member of the HB art gallery. I moved to Perth Australia in 2011 then on to Melbourne in 2019. Now a full time artist I have time to pursue my lifelong ambition to create affordable art. I am inspired by the vibrant colours of the Australian landscape, most of my work involves water and the visual drama of the constantly changing elements against the costal landscape. The essence of my work is not the water but the mystery behind the depiction of light, and the depth of colour.
