Winter Mourning in Rome

This piece features a man sitting on a bench, on a winter morning in Rome. I titled it 'Winter "Mourning" in Rome' because the man appears to be unhappy and the only one who seems to notice is the cat. The shadows of the morning and the sunlit faces compose a contemplative subject, and by using both brush and pallet knife I created a blend of realism and impressionism.
