This painting re-imagines the colours of Kakadu in a tonal study using a very limited palette of warm red, ochre, blue and white. I used a photo I'd taken last year for reference, all the while wondering when I'd ever get up there again.
Kakadu Reimagined is somewhat of a chameleon. In duller light, like a cloudy day the blue/mauve tones are dominant, in bright light, the yellow/green tones dominate. These photos were taken outside on a bright day. I'm happy to provide more images of the work in different lighting conditions.
Finished with two coats of varnish for surface protection

I do my best to photograph my artwork accurately, but due to differences in monitors and devices, colour and contrast may vary slightly
