I am drawn to the light, energy, colours and textures of the Australian landscape. Some of my art is an attempt to capture the sensation of immersion in nature, whether it be the energy and power of the ocean or the quiet awe of big open spaces of the Australian outback. Recently I have been more focused on the challenges of depicting Sydneyโs heritage architecture, focusing specifically on my local area in Canada Bay, Sydney. The art process enables me to immerse myself in the intimate corners of familiar spaces, and collectors of my work often connect very strongly with the depictions of their beloved spaces and places.
Though not formally trained, I engaged in artmaking since school and completed a number of shorter courses during my university studies. I fully reengaged in my art practice when asked to complete a commission in 2020. Since 2021, I have been an active member of the Drummoyne Art Society and regularly participate in its shows.
I exhibit work in the Hummingbird Sweet Things store in Wareemba, Sydney, and my works are available on the Bluethumb online platform. I am a regular stall holder at the Drummoyne Makers Market with my range of homewares based on my original artwork.
