When I was still working, I had a quote in my office which was so inspiring for me. It read:
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did.
So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore - Dream - Discover.”
This piece is attributed to Mark Twain, however, there is still some controversy whether it was in fact Mark Twain who wrote it.
It inspired me to do just that - Cast off the bowlines and sail away from the safe harbour. I have loved so many years travelling and sailing.
This painting depicts a boat sailing away from the safe harbour and battling angry seas and storms. I have used a lot of impasto and paint in blues, turquoise, teal and white to create the vision of heavy, rolling seas.
It is a very imposing painting and would suit most rooms - lounge, dining, games room or even a hallway or entry.
If you like this painting but it is not quite right for you, I also paint individual commissions. Visit my website - hello@delmorrisonart.com.au
