This painting was inspired by my travels around rural Western Australia. I have chosen a minimalist, aerial perspective to create fields of crops and wildflowers enclosed by fencing. Sitting in the window seat of a plane, I am always fascinated with the views below. The informal geometry of paddocks, road networks and lakes. I use acrylic as the drying time allows a quicker approach to my masking technique. I do not use thick paint but employ two and sometimes three thin coats to minimize brush marks.
