David has had two careers, one in science, and one in the arts. This was a struggle for many years, until art finally won.
David now lives in the South West corner of Western Australia. His studio is located completely "off grid" but he retains the benefits of power from the sun and modern communication via satellite - In some ways it is like standing on the outside looking in - a subject in an earlier painting.
Within this natural environment and surrounded by nature, the " internal noises" generated in our mind, are diminished. Gut feelings and intuition - the tiny whispers, often ignored and drowned in the background noise, can be heard more clearly.
David has chosen this environment in which to live - it is unhurried and supportive of the arts.
David has the support from his own family and he shares a love of film and video production with his son . On Weekends David and his son can often be found exploring waterways and national parks where they film and enjoy the wilderness. David compares the natural and organic landforms he sees as art but on a much larger scale. Mathematical relationships can be seen everywhere such as the Fibonacci sequence which appears in every leaf and every flower. A studio to accomodate and produce larger (abstract) works expressing these relationships is an idea which is growing.
