The whale watching boat quickly returns to port in Huskisson as a storm rolls in over Hyams Beach in Jervis Bay. The eerie calm before the storm was short lived before the torrential downpour. The first couple of sessions on this painting were done plein air right on Hyams Beach itself, with a 180 degree view of the bay, and regular visits from the local pod of dolphins.

I draw my inspiration from the beautiful people and places, the vibrant cultures and memorable encounters experienced living in diverse parts of our amazing planet. Although I love oils and watercolour, acrylic is my medium of choice as it allows me to go mobile with my setup and get absorbed in the process wherever I find my spark of inspiration.
