Iโve been painting since my teens and have always found the methods by which we arrive at a finished painting fascinating.
My first training came from my fatherโs studio in Kyneton Victoria where dad taught a tonal method of painting, specifically dedicated to still life . I have great memories of our time there. However my real interest was in landscape so my father set up an introduction to a Russian art professor, Leonid Vasin , who helped me develop a more direct painting method reminiscent of the iconic Heidelberg school . I spend considerable time painting the landscape En plain air in and around the Adelaide Hills, so if you see me on the side of the road with my easel, pull over and say hello!
