An appealing palette of mints and apricot bring a warmth to this country landscape.. For this work I have taken inspiration from the region between Bathurst and Canowindra in New South Wales. I have painted many of this area and the brush just eases into familiar territory with very loose brush strokes creating a sense of calm and relaxation. This painting has a raw tassie oak frame and is signed both front and back and ready to hang.

After initially studying art at school I then went on to perfect the disciplined art of chinese brush painting over and beyond some 30 years. I felt a great need to break free of those restraints so 15 years ago I added acrylic to my repertoire. My practice consists of fine sketches, followed by little watercolours which then lead onto actual paintings. Having performed this exacting ritual time and time again I'm more than ready to just have fun with the painting itself basically from the imprint of all that has gone before. I mainly paint landscapes but more than willing to basically try anything especially connected to nature. I have been a consistent finalist in Mosman and Waverley Art Prizes, won 5 1st prizes along with highly commendeds and commendeds and more recently won a finalist spot to exhibit at Spectrum Miami Art Fair and have just been awarded Honourable Mention in international CFA Artist of the Year Award.
