This past year my practice has explored abstraction and freedom, using process as a meditative expression rather than always trying to make the perfect mark. ‘Rockpool’ sat in my studio for months on end, a piece I would continue to come back to and sit with, washing on some more colour when the mood hit me, much the way I would walk over to the closest headland each day to see what the tide was doing, which rocks were exposed and where the swell was going. ‘Rockpool’ celebrates the ebbs and flows of this year, the changing moods, finding space to breathe, space to see, and moments of frustration.
Please note the in-situ shots are just a guide, and this piece is unframed.
