I decided to paint ba scene looking from my kitchen to the building being started next door. I loved the shadows and the shapes the bamboo made behind our outdoor screens. I knew a lot of the interesting detail would disappear then the building was completed.

Never teaching full time I have spent the last 40 odd years dabbling in all sorts of art, building my women’s shed and generally making any colourful art in it that took my fancy (when time and the seasons permitted). Retiring to Toowoomba 12 months ago I have found a wonderful group of fellow painters who inspire me to keep creating and I am finding art therapeutic. I spend many a happy hour with a paintbrush in my hand.
