About Artur Lasota
I live in Sydney’s Inner West. I work from my home studio.
My work reflects what I see and how I confront the visual sensation with corresponding fragments of my daily reality.
The most important thing for me is to free myself from preconception or cynicism and allow my work to dictate its path. There I can unexpectedly discover something I have never paid attention to.
The images I paint contain some exaggeration and distortion, possibly contributing to the intended essence of the work. Usually, it takes some time to get to the stage where the painting lives on its own. When it happens, there is a reason to continue.
