My parents met at Art School in Brisbane, so much of my background in art is genetic rather than taught.
Like many who love art, I worked in another career, as a librarian, and had art as a hobby.
I spent many years doing intuitive quirky drawings in pen and ink.
I prefer to be intuitive and experiment when painting from my imagination. I love watching the interaction of colours, so that the painting forms an impression of a subject rather than strict realism.
Painting became a serious interest in 2003 when I joined the Central Queensland Contemporary Artists in Rockhampton, and began to participate in their workshops and twice yearly exhibitions. I now work in colour, mostly in acrylic paint. I also create digital art, using a drawing stylus to paint in Photoshop.
Since 2015 I have enjoyed being a member of Maleny Arts and Crafts groups, and love trying out new subjects and techniques.
I have exhibited and sold work in twice yearly group exhibitions both here and in Rockhampton.
