On a rainy day I was looking for flowers to paint at the flower markets and found these freshly cut sunflowers. They brightened up the day and hopefully the composition showcases that brightness.

Influenced by the modern Impressionists, I work with oils and prefer to paint landscapes 'Alla Prima' and Still Life in the studio. While painting Alla Prima I try to capture the light, colour and vibe of a seascape or landscape, so I can share the joy of it with the viewer. What fascinates me with Still Life is discovering a whole world in the subtle nuances of flowers with their different patterns and colours.
