The painting is titled "Still Life - Dedicated to Frida Kahlo" and was inspired by one of her works, "Self Portrait - Dedicated to Dr Eloesser". I've always been fascinated by Frida's life and work and wanted to create a subtle tribute to her as a strong female artist. I've taken shapes and colours from one of her self portraits and reworked them into this stunning vase of autumnal flowers in my own style.
This work has been created using high quality artists' acrylics and is sealed with a matte varnish. Framed in Tasmanian Oak and ready to hang.
Andria Beighton is a Melbourne based artist whose background in floristry is evident in her subject selection. A lifelong fascination with colours and a requirement for balance are also driving forces
in her work.
Inspired by bold vintage textiles, the graphic nature of mid century poster art and the stark forms of brutalist architecture, Andria creates bold yet harmonious work.
