The physical act of painting takes me on an emotional roller coaster, pure emotional freedom and joy. My abstract art is very intuitive and personal. It’s my way of releasing my thoughts and emotions that result in a voice I otherwise wouldn’t have.
Intriguing ‘abstract art’ is my main area of focus. I am influenced by my fascination of the process to create abstract art and an obsession to create something beautiful and interesting to look at.
Acrylic is my favoured medium as it allows my impatience to be transferred from head to canvas before it disappears. Fast drying acrylics allow me to be spontaneous. I will continue to add and take away, pushing and pulling until the painting feels complete. Oils and pastels, and sometimes ink, are later introduced where and when necessary. I don’t restrain from using one or all mediums. They offer unique qualities and provide a never ending journey of discovery.
A considered palette initiates my work. I’m led by a deep passion for colour and in particular a love of earthy tones and nature. My paintings aim to prompt subtle shifts of thought and feeling. They exist to stimulate imagination, tranquillity or confusion - but ultimately, pleasure.
