Alicia Cornwell β Fine Artist
Alicia Cornwell is a Melbourne-based artist working from her studio nestled in a 100-year-old home atop a mountain in Olinda, Victoria. Surrounded by historic gardens and the Dandenong Ranges Botanic Gardens and National Parks, Alicia draws deep inspiration from the natural beauty and seasonal shifts of her environment.
She holds a Bachelor of Fine Art (Printmaking and Painting, Caulfield Institute of Technology β Monash University, 1985) and a Graduate Diploma in Art Education (Victoria College, Burwood, 1987). Now working primarily in oils on stretched canvas, Alicia specialises in contemporary still life.
Before returning to painting full-time, Alicia spent many years immersed in the antiques and vintage interiors industry, running her own business. This background continues to inform her work β an elegant fusion of natural forms and curated vintage design elements. Her paintings range from vibrant and bold compositions to softer pastel palettes, unified by strong structure, layered glazes, and fine detail.
Alicia has exhibited and sold her work across Australia and internationally, and she is proudly represented by several galleries around the country.
